Wedding: On March 22 we blessed the marriage of Donald Arthur Filin and Rosalia Ronto. Witnesses were William Seatls and Debra Otto. Funeral: On March 28th we buried Julius Botár, 71, who died in our Care Center. May God bless his memory among us. The Congregations of the Western Classis reelected our minister as the Dean of the Classis for another 3 year term. The meeting of the Western Classis elected Dr. Arpad Banda as the new treasurer of the Classis. Our Lorantffy Care Center has 45 tenants and patients presently. Almighty God has richly blest the Easter holiday in our midst: attendance during the English service was 563 and at the Hungarian 245; the Holy Communion participants 465 and 179, also 21 sick and shut-in brethren. Thanks and appreciation to all who made genrous donations to the church for Easter: The Ladies Aid Society $5,000, the Dorcas Guild $4,000, the Golden Circle Club $500, the Men’s Guild $500, Mrs. Julia Hegedűs in memory of husband Mr. Joseph Hegedűs, who died 14 years ago $500 (for the new parsonage fund), also Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Hegedűs in memory of father and brother and sister-in-law $1,000. The Installation Service of the Rev. Stephen Torok in Perth Amboy, N. J. was attended by 21 church members. Thanks to all who gave back the visit of 1,000 km. which the Perth Amboy Church paid to our church in February. On May 8th, Ascension Day, during a special service, the examination of the Confirmation Class will take place at 7:30 P.M. They will participate in the Holy Communion for the first time at Pentecost, May 18th. Those confirmed this year are: Dawn R. Basco, Jay J. Hegedűs, Barbara A. Karol, David Shawn Kazay, Lynn Mathia, Jon Jay Mészáros, Karen Tarkany. May God bless them and give them strength to keep their pledges.
