Mrs. Fabian, Mrs. Vörös, Mrs. Toth, Mrs. Matusz, Mrs. Helen Edmunds, Mrs. Hercog, Mrs. Jolán Csizma and Miss Robin Csizma helped to prepare the dinner. According to the decision of our church council we will remodel the parsonage. Our lenten worship and holy communion service was well attended on March 3rd, Sunday. During the last month our supply minister, János Mihály and János Varos visited our members and our sick members. CARTERET, N. J. Officers for 1974 elected by the Annual Congregational Meeting on February 10 are Leonard Sendelsky chief elder, Bela Kantor vice-chief elder, Frank Vérségi secretary, Walter Kovács treasurer and Mrs. Helen Sheridan financial secretary. The Church Council has altogether 20 members: all officers and Joseph Adam, Stephen Comba, Sr., Kent Dodge, Stephen Dorko, Sr., Louis Hollo, Geza Lukach, William Lukach, John Nemish, Alexander Peter, Joseph Timari, Jr., Louis Tömöri, Menyhért Toth, Francis Ullersberger, Michael Yeges; also the two new alternate elders Julius Lengyel and Clinton Miller. The Annual Meeting paid tribute to the late Bela Csutoros, a faithful elder who passed away in 1973; also to retiring elder Roy Jensen. The traditional Installation Dinner was on Mach 3 with the Junior Women's Guild in charge. Carteret Mayor Michael Toth saluted the congregation and its new officers. Speaker of the day was Dave Hillman, New Jersey State President of Gideons International. His presentation was excellent. The Junior Women’s Guild is planning an Easter Hat Social, “Happiness Is” for April 4. All women’s organizations in the neighborhood have been invited. The Easter and Holy Week church schedule has been sent to all church families. We shall again have a Holy Thursday evening bilingual communion service for which we print the liturgy in both languages so everybody can follow it in the language of preference. DUQUESNE, PA. Wedding: Gary S. Bence and Kimberly Naples were married in our church on March 16th. Lenten Communion was observed on March 3rd. 160 members received the holy elements in church and in their homes. Joseph Walker was elected by the church council to serve as a deacon for the year 1974. The anniversary committee began its planning for the celebration of our 20th year in the present building by authorization of church council. The festivities are slated for April 28, 1974. There will be an afternoon worship service at 4:00 p. m. and a banquet at 6:00 p. m. The Right Rev. Dezső Abraham, our bishop will deliver the sermon at our worship service. Details will follow in the April issue of this paper. McKeesport, pa. A special Congregational Meeting was held on March 10th after a combined Worship Service. The purpose of the meeting was to consider the offer of the McKeesport National Bank of $59,000.00 for our Eden Park Blvd. property. The Meeting voted against selling the property without considering a higher price for it. A Fellowship Luncheon was held on March 17th honoring our Officers and Elders. The installation of the minister will be on April 21. The Laymen’s and Workers’ Conference will be held on March 24. It is sponsored by the Hungarian Reformed Churches of Pittsburgh and Vicinity. Speakers are: Rev. Kalman A. Gondocz, Rev. Louis Illés and Mr. Stephen Toboz, Jr. Topic: “What Moves People To Serve Jesus Christ.” Place: First Hungarian Reformed Church of Pittsburgh, Pa., at 3:00 P. M. On March 3rd, first Sunday of Lent, the Lord’s Supper was served during both worship services.
