The Church Council consists of the following: Class of 1973 — Joseph Adam, Roy Jensen, Béla Kántor, John Nemish, Joseph Timari, Jr., Francis Ullersberger; Class of 1974 — Stephen Comba, Sr., Béla Csutoros, Stephen Dorko, Sr., Louis Hollo, Alexander Peter, Menyhért Tóth; Class of 1975 — Kent Dodge, Walter Kovács, Leonard Sendelsky, Louis Tomori, Frank Vérségi, Michael Yeges; alternate elders — Geza Lukach, William Lukach. The Annual Meeting further raised the Pastor’s salary by $500 annually to meet the rise in cost of living. Final figures of the financial report for 1972 were $34,939 receipts and $32,480 expenditures; total balance for 1973, including the carryover from 1971, was $21,328. 6.4% of the expenses were for denominational and missionary causes. There are 272 members on the list of voters; 363 persons contributed more than $9 in 1972; the number of children including infants is 77. From the two active women’s organizations the Lorántfy Society, after having donated $3,000 to the church in 1972, still carries a balance of $7,750; the Junior Women’s Guild gave $500 to the church and has a balance of $1,668. Baptism: Stacey Janet, daughter of Zoltán Milak and his wife Viola Stankovics, on February 4. Funeral: Mrs. Michael Szalka, 75, on January 13. DUQUESNE, PA. Wedding: DeWayne R. Balias and Elizabeth M. Cornwall, on J anuary 20th. Our Annual Congregational Meeting was held on January 28th. The following officers were elected for 1973: Richard Heyz, chief elder; Andrew Urban, Hungarian assistant elder; Charles Nagy, English assistant elder; Joseph Voros, treasurer; John Estu, auditor; Frank Kottán, secretary; Frank Demes, offering recorder. New members to the church council: Nick Balias III and Irene Zeleznik. Michael Beres, who retired from the position of Hungarian Assistant Elder was elected to honorary elder. Our library will reopen soon. Barbara Revak and Paula Balias will be our librarians, assisted by members of the Youth Fellowship. Beginning March 7th we will hold Lenten Vespers every Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. Lenten Communion will be observed on March 11th. McKeesport, pa. On Sunday, Jan. 21 new American and Christian flags were dedicated to the glory of God and in loving memory of the late Mr. and Mrs. William A. Toth, Mrs. Elizabeth Toth Horvath, and Mr. Steve Horvath. The flags were given by Mrs. Michael Toth and sons, Michael and Andrew. The Rt. Rev. Louis Nagy, former pastor was the principal speaker at both worship services. His messages brought sunshine and hope to those who heard him. Our people were happy to see him, received him with love. There were even tears in many eyes. The dedication itself was conducted by Mr. Robert L. Coughlin, state vice commander of the American Legion and by the members of the local Legion. At 12 a.m. a delicious dinner was served by our ladies. Among our guests were Rev. and Mrs. Louis Illés. All the expenses were paid by the Toth family. The sum of $450 received as donations at the dinner went to our Building Fund. Many thanks for everything. Officers of the Jr. Youth Fellowship for 1973 are: Patty Balogh president, Shirley Berttok vice president, Teri Helmecy secretary and Don Caiarelle treasurer. Advisor is Mrs. Carolyn Halas. The following members were added to our Church Family: Mr. and Mrs. William Brindza and family, Mrs. Susan Schmeltzer, Mrs. Balir Harkett and family. We welcome them into our fellowship. Our Congregational Dinner will be held on Sunday, March 4 at 12 a.m. There will be a combined worship service at 10:30 a.m. Funeral: The late Mrs. Frank Toth was buried on January 17. Mrs. Toth was one of the founders of our church. May she rest in peace and may God comfort her loved ones. Mrs. Michael Toth and sons, Michael and Andrew wish to express their many thanks to all those who attended the dedication of the flags on January 21 at the Hungarian Reformed Church. A special word of thanks goes to the Rt. Rev. Louis Nagy for conducting the services, to Mr. Robert L. Coughlin, State Vice Commander of the American Legion and to the members of the local Legion. PERTH AMBOY, N. J. The members of our Women’s Guild will participate in corporate holy communion on the first Sunday of March. Our choir director, Mrs. Christine Campbell resigned in January and Mr. Philip Frowery, music teacher of the Hazlet School System and former Westminster Choir College student continues to work with both choirs. March 15th, Hungarian Independence Day celebration by all Hungarian churches of our city will be held in our center this year. President of the Women’s Guild, Mrs. Miklós Magyar Jr. have a fine report on the activities of the past year. Mrs. Lorraine Blaho treasurer reported an income of $7,768.38 with the expenses deducted the Guild has a balance of $2,718.49! The Youth report in our “annual yearbook” calls for a united effort in this 70th anniversary year of our congregation. Young people of our church are invited to attend the meetings every Friday 7:30 P.M. Mrs. Elizabeth Dudich is the adviser. Statistics — Wedding: Richard Bodnár and Anne L. Bolick on February 3rd. Baptisms: Trevor Scott Castaldo, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Castaldo was baptized on February 11th. Godparents were Jerry A. Bálint and Deborah Hikel; Cheryl Lynn Angyal, daughter of Mr. Stephen Angyal and Joyce Bányácski, was baptized on March 11th: godparents were Richard Bodnár and Eileen Gelles Rafolsky; also Diana Lynn Bacho, daughter of Steven Bacho and Patricia Moran; godparents were Mr. and Mrs. William Moran. Our Annual Congregational Meeting, which was held on January 28 following a combined worship service in our church was a peaceful one. The number of our members present was 38 which was not enough for the quorum according to our voting list. We closed our first meeting and on the same day called another with the same amount of members. In the first part of our meeting we listened to the minutes from the last congregational meeting which were read by Mr. Allen Birkholz in English and by Mr. John Kollar in Hungarian.
