14 MAGYAR EGYHÁZ Sunday School classes will begin anew on the second Sunday of Septem­ber, the 9th. Parents are encouraged to enroll their children and to become members of our adult class at the same time. From January 1 to August 11, 1973, our Church Register notes that we have had 14 baptisms, 7 marriages and 18 members deceased. New members in­clude 17 adults and 14 young people confirmed. Our newest members are Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Yuhasz. Baptisms: Scott and Michael, sons of Mr. and Mrs. Kipton Taylor, on June 24. Joseph, Mark and Anita, children of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Yuhasz, on July 1. Weddings: Calvin VonLinsowe and Julieann Dicső on July 7, Edward C. Clay and Linda Thomas on July 28. Daniel S. Nagy and Theresa Martin on August 11. Deaths: Julia Balazsi died on July 1, Rose Toth died on July 9, Cornelius Imry died on July 11, Susanna Molnár died on July 27, Helen Wertanen died on July 28, Julia Danko died on August 6. May God grant His mercy and com­fort to the bereaved. Mr. Cornelius Imry, who died this past month, was for many years an out­standing leader. He served as president of the Szatmar Association and was a former Elder of our congregation. We are all busy in our preparation for the 70th Anniversary observance of the Carteret congregation. There will be a Service of Thanksgiving on Sunday, September 16, 10 a.m., and a dinner­­dance on Saturday, October 27. To these occasions we wish to invite not only our present membership but also those who once belonged to our fellowship but moved away from the neighborhood. Addresses of such people should be forwarded to the Pastor. The Church Council decided to have a Memorial Plaque displayed in the church with names of deceased mem­bers in memory of whom contributions have been made. We shall begin with the names of those who passed away in 1973. At request, however, names of ■former church members who died be­fore 1973, will also be placed on the plaque. Names of such people — who at any time had been members of our church — should be submitted to the Pastor before September 1 in order to appear on the first plaque. Requests arriving later will be put on a second plaque at a later date. Wedding: Julius Joseph Lengyel and Linda Louise Parsons on June 23. Funerals: Miss Bertha Olear, 68, on July 9; Mrs. Elizabeth Hidi (nee Kara­bély), 74, on July 14. The Reverend Károly Bogár, 74, was buried from the Carteret church on July 23. Dean Gábor Csordás, Dean Dr. Andrew Harsányi, the Rev. László Hunyady, Dr. Andrew Kosa, the Rt. Rev. Stephen Kovács, and the Rt. Rev. Louis Nagy officiated at the services. Nine young people are planning to go to the BYF Annual Conference with Vice Chief Elder Béla Kántor accom­panying them. DUQUESNE, PA. Harvest-home communion was cele­brated on August 5th. 140 members received the holy elements in church and in their homes. Our youth fellowship hosted a picnic for the youth of the Hungarian Re­formed churches of the Pittsburgh area on August 5th. Participants held a wor­ship service and received communion at the picnic. Occasions such as this picnic are a part of the Pittsburgh area youth’s plan to achieve closer coopera­tion between the different congrega­tions. Our Vacation Bible School was held August 6 to 10 with the theme: Reach Out With Jesus. Some members of the youth fellow­ship attended the Calvin Synod’s (United Church of Christ) youth con­ference at Camp Kanesatake August 13-17. They were among seven repre­sentatives of our denomination at­tending. Baptism: Julie Ann Nagy, daughter of Julius and Julia Nagy, the former Julia Wargo was baptized on August 19. Godparents were Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Wargo from Florence, N. J. McKeesport, pa. Our Vacation Bible School was held in June. Mrs. Barnabas Roczey was the director. Teachers were: Mrs. Bela Brindza, Mrs. Robert Jordanhazy, Mrs. William Jardanhazy, Mrs. John Varga, Mrs. Ernest Segady and Mrs. John Canelle. Our many thanks to them. We are grateful to those who helped with the transportation. The activities of our Sunday School will be resumed on Sunday, September 2 at 8:45 a.m. There will be classes for all ages. Wedding: On July 1, Julius Bakos and Theresa Slinchak. Congratulations and may God bless them with love and happiness. During the vacation of the pastor the following were our substitutes: The Rt. Rev. Louis Nagy, the Rev. Kalman Csia, Mr. Sándor Chomos, the Rev. Kalman Gondocz and Very Rev. Tibor Dömötör. Election of the new pastor was held on August 12. Rev. Kalman Gondocz was called to take over as the new pastor. PERTH AMBOY, N. J. During the vacation of the pastor, the Rev. August J. Molnár and the Rev. Kálmán Csia were the guest ministers in our church. The Rev. Dr. Nicholas Nyáry served as guest assistant on the first Sunday in August, when the Holy Communion service was held in thanksgiving for the “New Bread”. The members of our Christian Youth Fellowship plan to attend the Labor Day Youth Conference hosted by the Akron, Ohio church. Bus transportation will be provided for the area church youth. Date of the conference: August 31 through September 3rd. A delegation of elders will represent our church at the annual Presbyter’s Conference in Ligonier, Pa., Sept. 2 and 3. Statistics: Baptisms: Frank Paul Sautner II, the son of Frank P. Sautner and Eileen P. Hudacsko; Eric Zoltán Funtek, the son of Joseph Funtek and Aagot J. Eiden; Kristina Margit Emma Schurr, the daughter of William R. Schurr and Gail H. Horn; Zoltán Bodi, son of István Bodi and Maria Meny­hárt. May God bléss the children and their loved ones. Deaths: Mrs. Frank Csordás (nee Johanna Toronyi) age 91 on June 30; Mr. Alex Mondics, age 62, on July 12th; Mrs. Paul Strub, (nee Veronica Tith) age 54, on July 14th; Mrs. Louis Egri (nee Elizabeth Csorba) age 91, on July 22 and Mr. László Kocsis, age 39, on July 25.
