Magyar Egyház, 1972 (51. évfolyam, 1-12. szám)
1972-08-01 / 8-9. szám
14 MAGYAR EGYHÁZ have no relatives. Acceptance at the home will be determined following these conditions: 1— Members of the Akron Congregation. 2— Members of the Hungarian Reformed Churches in America. 3— Members of Hungarian Churches. 4— Hungarians. 5— Members of American Churches. In accepting residents for the Care Center, we will definitely favor those who during their lifetime were active members of the Church and have contributed to the advancement of the Hungarian cause by deeds and sacrifices. The signing date — the day, month and year — of the application for admission is extra-ordinarily important, as all signs indicate that we will have a waiting list, and therefore applicants will have to be admitted in the order in which they signed their applications. The Board of Directors of the Lorantffy Care Center are keenly aware of the fact, that we have unfortunate brethren, who having worked and saved all their lives and then are forced to spend their entire life’s savings because a lengthy illness coerces them into a nursing home. For this reason, we offer to five, and only five of our brethren, in the order of receipt of their application, to take care of them for their entire lifetime for the sum of $10,000.00 This sum under normal circumstances would cover the cost of care for from 2 to 3 years in our home. Therefore, those who are still in relatively good health, would fare well to guarantee for themselves at this sum a lifetime of shelter, food and medical care. This 6um must be deposited to the account of the Lorantffy Care Center together with a properly executed legal document. We can, we repeat, guarantee this offer for only five persons. Interested parties should contact the Board of Directors of the Lorantffy Care Center for further information. Description of the Lorantffy Care Center The Lorantffy Care Center represents the greatest and finest undertaking of Hungarians in America. This beautiful building will be 260 feet long and 130 feet wide and will incorporate the most up to date equipment for the care of our aged and ailing brethren. The building will be valued at $1,200,000.00 The Lorantffy Care Center will truely be a home for 102 of our ageing or ailing Hungarian brethren providing them with real Hungarian cuisine and care, with a bi-lingual staff and in the immediate vicinity of a Hungarian Church. Outside of the living and patient rooms every other need will be taken care of in the other spaces within the home, specifically designed for these purposes. The building will have two large interior gardens and three glass roofed community rooms suitable for receiving visitors, dining, social get togethers as well as religious services. Our Home will be located in the nicest suburb of Akron, close to transportation facilities for downtown shopping but yet far removed from the noise and crime of the central city. The Home as well as its facilities will far surpass all state requirements, as we wish to provide the very best possible for our ageing Hungarian brethren. The beautiful church of our congregation will be but some 100 steps from the main entrance of the Lorantffy Care Center. Our Home can be reached in 30 minutes from Cleveland, 35 minutes from Canton, 40 minutes from Alliance and 45 minutes from Youngstown. About 4 million people live within an hour’s drive from our Care Center. Thanks to the Contributors During the past six months the sum of larger donations received surpasses $17,000.00. The list of these donors is being published herewith. The total of smaller donations amounted to about $13,000.00 during the same six month period. During the coming year, required for the construction of the Lorantffy Care Center, we need to raise an additional $75,000.00 to cover the cost of furnishings and equipment for our home. We once again, on these pages, turn to our Hungarian brethren for help so that we may in time and with the best possible perfection complete this, the largest Hungarian undertaking in America. How Can You Help the Lorantffy Care Center? You can help the Lorantffy Care Center with financial contributions, either personal or congregational. You can mention the Care Center at the meetings of the ladies’ clubs, youth groups or church councils. Every gift proves the ability and willingness of Hungarians to build and to create! Let us all participate in creating! All gifts are tax deductible. The names of contributors of $500.00 will be entered on a bronze plaque in the main hall of the home, serving to remind all in the future, that this great institution came into being by virtue of the fact, that Hungarians joined and sacrificed together to help in its creation. It will also serve to remind all of the great service which we undertake to help our nation and our ageing brethren.
