16 MAGYAR EGYHÁZ The Christian Youth Fellowship Trea­surer, Tom Banyacski reported a total income in 1970 of $1,624.26 and the expenses were $1,153.03. The Sunday School Treasurer, Mrs. Elaine Lopez reported an income of $1,579.65 and expenses totaled $1,- 082.62. On Sunday, March 7, the Women’s Guild members will participate in cor­porate Holy Communion in observance of the anniversary of their organization. On the same Sunday afternoon, the Eastern Area Youth Conference is sche­duled in our Center. On Sunday, March 14, an observance of Hungarian Independence Day will take place with all the Hungarian churches of our city participating. The Women’s Guild will sponsor a Spring Rummage Sale on March 19 and 20. On Sunday, March 28, the Eastern Classis annual meeting is scheduled in our church. J. 08861 $1.00—Handling & Postage $.25 ROEBLING, N. J. During the past 2 months the Rev. August J. Molnár, Professor of the Hungarian Institute, New Brunswick, N.J., served our congregation. Thanks and appreciation is hereby extended to him. Since December 1st, 1970, when the Rev. Paul Ferenczy resigned, the lead­ers of our church are in the process of calling a new minister. For the month of February, the Church Council asked the Rev. Stefan Török, assistant minister, who is doing “post graduate work” at New Brunswick Seminary, to take care of the services. The annual congregational meeting was held in January, the Very Rev. Ste­phen Kovács, Pastor of the Trenton Church, General Secretary of the Synod presided. The officers of the church council accepted the responsibility to serve for another term, Stephen Varga Chief Elder, until the new minister shall be elected. Inspite of the fact, that there is no full time minister in the church, the or­ganizations, the Sunday School, Wo­men’s Guild, The Lórántffy Women’s Club, all carry on the works as usual. There is hope, that the Youth Club will be reorganized in the near future. Thanks to all church members, who carry on the work so faithfully! STATEN ISLAND, N. Y. The annual congregational meeting was on February 14. The treasurer re­ports the receipts in 1970 (including the previous year balance) netted $13,458.39. Expenses were $7,554.36. The Women’s Guild donation in 1970 was $2,720.59. In the New Year 1 couple, 3 women joined our church, our Sunday School gained 5 children, our Confirmation class 2 students. Death-. J. In the year of 1970 we had 15 bap­tisms, 16 confirmations, 14 marriages and 24 funerals. The income of the church treasury was $46,830.72. The personal donations of our members, in round numbers, totaled $35,000.00. In 1970 we bought a new organ, the Young Women’s Guild had the church bells electrified, the Lorantffy Zsuzsan­na Ladies Aid donated a new Lord’s Table and the exterior of the school was painted. YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO From the Annual Report: receipts in 1970, including the $5,358 balance from 1969, was $29,743, expenses $22,715 (which includes $2,500 transferred to the Saving Account), leaving a balance of $7,028. The church owes to the American Hungarian Reformed Federa­tion $14,000. Vital statistics from 1970: 4 baptism, 12 confirmed, no weddings, 5 burials. We serve the Hungarian Reformed people through the Hungarian Radio in cooperation with other Hungarian chur­ches in the Mahoning Valley. The radio services can be heard every Sunday night at 7:05 on WPIC-FM radio, 102.9 on your dail. The second part of the service is always in English. On Suday, February 7th, between the two services we have celebrated the 80tb birthday of the Rev. Alexander Marton. Through the Magyar Egyház we wish him Happy Birthday and pray that God’s blessing be with him. On February 7th, the Ladies’ Aid held a successful Bingo-party. Wedding: Kenneth John Vantell and Janet Marie Brooks were united in marriage in our church on January 9th. Witnesses were Ronald Michael Brooks and Donna Jean Vantell. On February 3rd we buried Mrs. Zsigmond Varga (Maria Palló), whom the Lord called home after 79 years on this earth. The comforting power of God be with the sorrowing family.
