At our Congregational Meeting, held on January 26th, the following officers were elected: John Kontz chief elder, Joseph Martin Hungarian vice chief elder, Andy Toth English vice chief elder, Louis Jardanhazy secretary, Steve Balogh assistant secretary, Robert Jardanhazy treasurer, Albert Toth assistant treasurer, William Jardanhazy controller, Andrew Fedor, Sr. Building Fund treasurer. Newly elected elders: John Kontz, William Orris, Sr., Stephen Földi, Andrew Fedor, Sr., Steve Balogh, Louis Jardanhazy, William Toth, Sándor Nagy, Robert Jardanhazy, William Arokhaty, Shan Toth and John Canelle. Officers of the Sunday School are Robert Jacklitch superintendent, Louise Jacklitch secretary, Norma Jardanhazy treasurer, Helen Jardanhazy controller, Dale Keleman librarian. Weddings: John Martin Kinnunen and Catherine M. Simon; witnesses: Diane Collier and Victor Kinnunen. On February 23rd we will observe Hungarian Reformed Federation Day. The Rt. Rev. Dr. Zoltán Beky, and the Rt. Rev. Arpad George, President and Secretary of the Federation will participate in the service. Speakers at the banquet will be Controller László Eszenyi, and Treasurer Paul St. Miklossy. Lenten Communion will be held on March 2nd. During the Lenten Season we will hold Hungarian services every Thursday at 7 p.m. PERTH AMBOY, N. J. Officers elected for 1969 are: John Marincsak chief elder, Andrew Orosz vice president, John J. Kovács, Jr. treasurer, William Orosz secretary. Newly elected church council members are: Joseph Orosz, Steven Blaho and Ronald Polak. The following were re-elected for a 3 year term: Joseph Banyacski, Steven J. Deak, John S. Kovács, Jr., Andrew Orosz, Gabriel Silagyi, Alex Varga and Frank Varga. Thanks and appreciation were expressed to the following councilmen: John Latkovich, Stephen Kish, and John Varga, Old Bridge, who resigned from their post. The Women’s Guild yearly income was $9,434, expenses $8,738, which left a balance of $696. Our Sunday School Superintendent underwent a serious back operation in the hospital; Mrs. Alice Hegedűs is substituting for her. Mrs. Esther Sorensen resigned as treasurer and Mrs. Elaine Lopez accepted this responsibility. The annual income was $1,876, expenses $1,089, leaving a balance of $787. On Sunday, March 2nd, the Women’s Guild members will participate in Holy Communion in a body to commemorate the 22nd anniversary of the organization. March 23rd, C.Y.F. Spaghetti Supper from 5:30 P.M. March 21-22: Rummage Sale. ROEBLING, N. J. Officers for 1969 are the following: Steven Varga chief elder, Bert Somogyi, Jr. vice chief elder, John Kollár and Allen Birkholz secretaries, Joseph Bartha treasurer, Bert Bartha assistant treasurer and controller; elders: Steven Bajzath, James Gilanyi, Frank Keszner and Frank Nagy. Statistics for 1968: 2 baptisms, 1 wedding, 1 burial, 3 confirmed. Income in 1968 $17,675, expenses $13,157, balance $4,518. Budget for 1969: $13,665. During the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity our church participated in the Community Worship Services and our young people took part in the Community Youth Program. STATEN ISLAND, N. Y. The annual report presented at the congregational meeting on February 2 by Pastor Nyary was accepted. The report commended the faithful services of the elders and of the officers of the church as well as of the Women’s Guild. Elected were the following officers: Louis Kish president, Albert Kish vice-president, Peter Mackerowsky secretary, Stephen Nemeth treasurer; Stephen Albert as lifetime honorary elder, Stephen Ambrus, Louis Kish, Charles Kosa, Wayne Cutler, Stephen Kish, elders. To honor the newly elected officers of all organizations the Women’s Guild sponsored the annual Installation Dinner on February 9. The Women’s Guild participated in a corporate Holy Communion on the first Sunday of Lent, February 23. Burial: Gabor Eggud, 91, former member deceased at Massapequa Park, Long Island, N. Y. YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO Officers for 1969 are the following: John Vantell English chief elder, Charles Lakatos Hungarian chief elder, Joseph Switka secretary, Albert Batta treasurer; members of the Church Council: Nick Bayus, Thomas Roy Combs, Louis Demjen, Kalman Haggerty, John Halasé, Jr., James Hohvart, Frank Lesnansky, Steve Mislevy, Matthew Mrakovich, Steve Sabo, Sr., Rudolph Tatar, Timothy Tatar and Gabriel Toth; alternate elders are JVilliam Bér kinyi, George Chepke and Michael Ellis. Total income for the year 1968 including the $5,418 balance from 1967 was $27,706, expenses $21,800 (which includes the amount transferred to the Savings Account), leaving a balance of $5,905. YOUTH NEWS BETHLEHEM I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone—church members, friends and the B.Y.F.— for being so kind and thoughtful towards me while I was in the hospital. I’m sure anyone that was in the hospital can tell you that it really makes you feel a lot better to know that there are people who care and are praying for your speedy recovery.
