MAGYAR EGYHÁZ 11 Income for 1967: $35,259.29 with­out balance from previous year. Ex­penses: $25,392.86. We deposited $11,099.51 into our new church fund. The present balance of this fund is: $68,000. We also own a mortgage clear lot worth $40,000 and the pre­sent buildings. The dinner honoring the new elders will be held on February 11. Guest speakers in 1967 were: Bishop Tibor Bartha, from Debrecen,the Rev. Alexander Daroczy, the Rev. Kalman Csia, the Rev. John Apostol from Brazil, Dr. Aladar Komjáthy, the Rev. Paul Ferency, and the Rev. Louis Hies ministers. PERTH AMBOY Our annual report will be ready by the end of January. The newly elected officers and elders will take their official oath on Sunday, February 4th, when they will partici­pate in a corporate Holy Communion. The Jr. Women’s Guild elected and installed the officers for the next 2 years: Mrs. Margaret Silagyi, presi­dent, Mrs. Helen Bercik, vice presi­dent, Mrs. Margaret Seemann secre­tary, Mrs. Rose Nagy, treasurer. Mrs. Elizabeth Dudich, chaplain, Mrs. Margaret Abraham, adviser. The two women’s organizations were the most generous supporters of our congregation during the past year, they gave $3,000 at Christmas time. The choir of our church rendered a special “Christmas Cantata” on Sun­day, December 24th, by Mr. DeLeon Abell, choir director, and Mrs. Joseph Banyacski, organist. The members of our Christian Youth Fellowship went caroling during the Christmas holiday and were well re­ceived by our members and friends; the donations received were turned over to the church treasurer. Thanks to them! The Bible and Sunday School children conducted a so called “cookie sale” for the benefit of the Hungarian Reformed Church of Montevideo, Uru­guay, South America. First prize win­ner was Pamela Hall who sold 470 boxes of cookies, the second Sandie Wilczek, and the third Helen Loki. Ten more received special awards, wrist watches, white bibles, prayer books, etc. The clear profit $500 will be forwarded after Mrs. John Varga, Superintendent’s recovery from her illness. Marriage: Charlotte Ann Beres and Edward E. Egnatzky were married on October 28th. Baptisms and funerals are reported in the Hungarian news section. ROEBLING Our Christmas Season was blessed both spiritually and materially. Our members were faithful in their church attendance and Christian giving. The participation in Holy Communion was unusually good. The elements of the Lord’s Supper were donated by Mrs. Joseph Juhasz. Christmas is the time of sharing. Our church gave help to needy people whose Christmas might otherwise have been pretty meager. Our children, with the help of some of our elders visited our members with Christmas carols. STATEN ISLAND The Christmas season was richly blessed to us spiritually as well as financially. The Women’s Guild Christ­mas Party was very well attended. All our Sunday School children partici­pated in the Christmas program recit­ing poems or a part of the “Gettiing ready for Christmas” playlet. The carolers, in three groups, cheered up many members of our congregation. Vital statistics for 1967: 1 baptism, 5 burials, no weddings. Nine young people are being prepared for con­firmation. Burial: on November 27 Mrs. John Bercik, 76. The Women’s Guild elected the fol­lowing officers for 1968; President: Mrs. John Lovas; vice president: Mrs. William Roudi; secretary: Mrs. Pérá­val Ganss; treasurer: Mrs. Joseph O’Donnell; chaplain: Mrs. Jack Rod­­vansky. ÚJJÁ TESZEK MINDENEKET EGYHÁZAK VILÁGTANÁCSA NEGYEDIK NAGYGYŰLÉS Uppsala — 1968 “Újjá teszek mindeneket” címmel megjelent magyar nyelven az Egyhá­zak Világtanácsa Negyedik Nagygyű­lése számára összeállított előkészítő tanulmányi füzet. A 64 oldalas füzet megrendelhető a Magyar Egyház szerkesztőségénél, 175 Pershing Avenue, Carteret, N. J. 07008, példányonként 50 centes áron (+ bélyegköltség). 25 példányon fe­lüli rendelésnél a példányonkénti ár 40 cent. uvnnmfvwvvAAAmMMMWwvwM zunk számára a lelki és anyagi meg­erősödés esztendeje volt. Évi bevéte­lünk meghaladta a 25,000 dollárt. 1967-ben 3 évi templomtörlesztési ősz­­szeget fizettünk be, közel 9,000 dol­lár összegben. Karácsonyi istentiszteleteink szépen látogatottak voltak. 122 testvérünk élt az Ur szent vacsorájával. Gyertyafény szolgálatunkon szere­pelt az angol énekkar. Lelkészünk hivatalosan felajánlotta szolgálatát a jelenleg lelkész nélkül levő akroni Első Magyar United Church of Christ egyháztagjai szá­mára, egytáztanácsunk pedig hivata­losan meghívta ennek az egyháznak a tagságát a velünk való egyesülésre. Az egyesülési tárgyalások január 7-én kezdődnek meg és reméljük, hogy a két egyház egybeolvadásához vezetnek. Minden kedden este 7 órakor ima­órát tartunk. Nagyobb templomtörlesztési adomá­nyok 1967 decemberében: Bukovey Balázs 100 dollár, id. Tóth Lajos 100, egy idősebb egyháztagunk 100. Uj egyháztagjaink 1967 decemberé­ben: Albrecht Ferenc és neje, Csen­­gery Rose, Richert Ágnes, Varga Ba­lázs és neje.
