The newly elected officers of the Women's Guild include Mrs. John Rodvansky president, Mrs. Stephen Nemet vice president, Mrs. Fred Cutler secretary, Mrs. Stephen Szász treasurer, Mrs. John Lovász social treasurer, Mrs. Nicholas Nyary chaplain.

To honor the newly elected officers of all organizations the Women’s Guild will sponsor the annual Installation Dinner on Sunday, February 20th following an 11 a.m. combined English- Hungarian service.

The Women’s Guild will paricipate in corporate holy communion on February 27, at the first service.

World Day of Prayer will be observed as a community worship service on Friday, February 25th at 1:30 p.m. in our church with 7 neighboring churches participating.

YOUNGSTOWN

The congregational meeting on January 30th elected the following officers: John Vantell English chief elder, Charles Lakatos Hungarian chief elder, Joseph Switka secretary, Albert Batta treasurer and John Danch auditor. The following are the elders of the church: Nick Bay us, William Berkinyi, Eugene Chepke, George Chepke, Joseph Chepke, Roy Thomas Combs, James George, Kalmen Haggerty, Frank Lesnansky, Steve Mislevy, Matthew Mrakovich, Steve Sabo, Sr., Frank Schubert, Frank Seach, Steve Seach and Gabriel Toth, Jr.

Total income for the year 1965, including the $ 3,999.79 balance from 1964 was $ 24,177.88. expenses $ 19,- 705.87, leaving a balance of $ 4,- 472.01.

Statistics from 1965: baptized 6, confirmed 6. married 1, turned to our faith 7, buried 5.

Lenten Communion services will be held on February 27th.

EASTERN AREA ELECTS NEW OFFICERS

At the business meeting of the Eastern Area Youth Conference held February 6 in New Brunswick, N.J., the following new slate of officers has been elected:

Mrs. Peter Dudich and Mr. John Nemish continue as advisors, former president Shirley Bernath joins the Advisory Board.

YOUNGSTOWN

The Youngstown Youth Group ends the 1965 year with great success and terrific promises for the New Year. God has been good to us the past year and with His help I know that the best is yet to come for our youth group.

We decided to send in a monthly report of our business and recreation meetings. This, we hope, will stimulate other youth groups into sending in monthly reports too.

We started off January with a clean slate and a new agenda. Our members for one year now, have been supporting a Korean boy named ifim TaeKon. We get great satisfaction in doing this. We all call him our “little son.” Elizabeth Toth, one of the members of our fellowship, has been taking organ lessons sponsored by our church as a present and future prospect as an organist.

Our newly elected officers are the following: president Brenda Bay us, vice president Willian Johnson, secretary Lorraine Mocker, corresponding secretary Beverly Kovach (57 Regent St., Campbell, Ohio 44405), treasurer Larry Mislevy, chaplain Ed Mocker, social chairman Carol Veres, Our faithful advisors are Elizabeth Marton, Eugene Chepke and Rev. Adorján.

I wish to congratulate all the exofficers on the tremendous job they did the past year in promoting and improving our youth group. The Youngstown Youth Group wishes all the best of success to all the youth groups.

Az egyházközségi közgyűlést január 30-án tartotta meg a gyülekezet. Az évi jelentést a minden héten megjelenő gyülekezeti újság január 19-i száma hozta, igy a közgyűlésen csak a végleges adatokat ismertették. Az öszszes bevétel 1965-ben 45,290 dollár

volt; maradt az előző esztendőről 30,- 743 dollár. A Magyar Református Egyesület 60,000 dollár kölcsönt adott a templomépitéshez. Az 1965. év öszszes kiadása 128,726 dollár volt, amiben benne van a templomépités teljes összege. Áthozat az 1966. esztendőre 3,008 dollár készpénz és 59,412 dollár adósság a Magyar Református Egyesületnek.

Az elmúlt esztendő két legnagyobb eseménye az uj templom teljes felépítése és Kovács István lelkipásztor eltávozása a gyülekezetből.

A közgyűlés megválasztotta az uj egyházi elöljárókat. Gondnok lett Varga Ede, algondnok Binkley Mihály, jegyző Rutherford Robert, pénztárnok Adler Simon, ellenőrök Borbély József és Szilvási István. A 15 régi egyháztanácsos mellé 10 uj egyháztanácsost választottak.

A közeljövő legfontosabb feladata a lelkipásztor megválasztása, ami nagyon nehéz kérdés, mert a gyülekezet nem tudja elfelejteni 25 éven át szeretett lelkipásztorát és ugyanolyan munkát kíván az uj lelkipásztortól is, mint amilyent ő végzett.

A január 16-án tartott közgyűlés a következő tisztviselőket és presbitereket választotta: Érdié Edward főgondnok, Csizma Róbert algondnok, Chomós Sándor pénztáros, Fekete László jegyző, Simon János ellenőr. Presbiterek: Bartek János, Fábián János, Kuronya István, id. Németh Ernő, Németh C. Ernő, Szalai Gyula, id. Waros János.

Nernesh Elsie, Remenár János és Prém Józsefné felvételüket kérték gyülekezetünk tagjai sorába.

Január 13-án temettük el Lampert Jánost 56 éves korában.

Adatok a közgyűlés előtt elhangzott lelkészi jelentésből:

Az 1965. esztendő sok okot ad arra, hogy Istennek hálát adjunk. Uj egyháztagjaink gyülekezeti életünk erősségei lettek. A Nőegylet 1,000 dollárt adott az egyháznak. Vasárnapi iskolánk két este kántálni ment. A Social Committee az elmúlt évben 5,000 dollárt adott át az egyháznak. (Öt évi tevékenysége alatt összesen 26,800 dollárt.) Elnöke Kuronya István. A Special Account név alatt működő committee az elmúlt évben 8,700 dollárt adott át az egyháznak. (Két éves működése alatt összesen 15,700 dollárt.) Vezetője Németh C. Ernő.
