12 MAGYAR EGYHÁZ NEWS FROM THE TRENTON, N. J. A program of youth religious and social activity was organized two years ago in the Trenton Hungarian Reformed Church. This organization for young people between 13 and 16 is called the Youth Fellowship. The purpose for which this or­ganization is formed to unite in fel­lowship, to become such complete disciples of Christ that we will dis­cover God’s Will for our lives and do it: therefore, commit ourselves to Christ and purpose to acquire a dynamic faith through Christian ex­perience, worship and study. We dedicate our lives to the expression of this faith by word and deed seeking to work with those of like purpose and inviting others to join with us in building today for a Christian World. The officers of our Youth Fel­lowship: Bishop Dr. Zoltán Beky Pastor, Mr. Joseph Cookson Advisor, Mrs. Margaret Kraemer, Mrs. Eliz­­beth Cookson, and Mrs. Irén Piep­­szak Assistant Advisors. President: Lester Martin, Vice Pres.: Ronald Ture, Secretary: William Kraemer, Treasurer: Margaret Vágott, Cor. Secretary: Julianne Jacob. The Youth Fellowship meets every Sun­day Evenning at 7:00. Socials on fourth Fridays of the month. CARTERET, N. J. The Rev. Dezső Ábrahám, dean of the new Eastern Classis held his anual visitation on March 9th. In his address to the Board of Elders he stressed the progress the Carteret congregation is making and especial­ly praised the willingness of the members to contribute their skill and labor to the building projects of the church. DETROIT, MICH. The Christian Youth Fellowship was welcomed into the home of Mrs. Ella Nagy for their February meeting, and Valentine’s day was used as the theme. Zolton Horosz prepared and presented the devo­tional. A theatre party to see the film Ben Hur is to be the group’s monthly activity. DUQUESNE, PA. At the opening services of the Lenten Season, on Ash Wednesday, we had over a hundred members present, at our Lenten Communion services 172 members lived with the sacrament. We are holding two services every Wednesday evening CONGREGATIONS and on both services we are using visual aid, filmstrips, to illustrate the Passion Story of our Lord. Be­sides our own services we are par­ticipating in the Pre-Easter Union Services of our city, which are held every evening for two weeks prior to Good Friday and on that day a three hour service is held. Both congregation and pastor take an active part in these services. New events on the organizational activities of our church included the formation of a Junior High Youth Fellowship with the pastor’s wife as the counsellor and Mr. & Mrs. Wesley Probst and Robert Szepesi as advisors. The group in­clude young people of 12-14 years of age. The Women’s Club elected the following officers on their meeting in February: Mrs. Ernest Kovach, President (reelected); Mrs. Michael Zeleznik, Vice-President; Mrs. John Horvath, Jr. Secretary; and Mrs. Michael Vockley, Treasurer. Their program include several items of benevolent nature, such as Retarded Children, bandages for cancer pa­tients, mailing letters for T.B. League, and of course, planning and making gifts for the children and aged of our Bethlen Home. At their last meeting they voted to aid a theological student by a set amount every month. The dean of our Western Classis visited our Church Council at their meeting of March, expressed his satisfaction over the work of the leaders and the congregation; spent an enjoyable evening with us dis­cussing mutual problems of the two neighboring churches and pastors. McKeesport, pa. A final revision of the Youth Fel­lowship constitution was completed. Between the time of a successful bake sale and a group visit to a Duquesne Youth Fellowship meeting, the group actively engaged in an extensive campaign for new mem­bers. PERTH AMBOY, N. J. April 10th, Palm Sunday, at 7:30 P.M. students from princeton The­ological Seminary will present a drama in the church entitled: “Christ in the Concrete City”. Guest and friends are welcome. The Youth Club’s Car Washing Project will continue: April 16th, Saturday, and every third Saturday of the month. Bring your car to the church yard or the parking lot behind the church and let our youth wash your car. The Bible and Sunday School children’s chocolate sale contest started April 1st for the benefit of the small electric organ fund. En­courage your children and help them. The Church Athletic Federation’s “Awards Banquet” will be in our Fellowship Hall on April 2nd. Our Youth Fellowship participated in the basketball games. ROEBLING, N. J. Wedding: on February 27th Miss Judith R. Molnár and Louis K. Kuapahi were united in holy mat­rimony in our church. On March 19th we have honored all the Josephs and Sándors of our Church with a testimonial dinner as it is traditional in our Church. GYÜLEKEZETI ÉLET TRENTON, N. J. Ugyanakkor köszöntöttük az egyház életben lévő volt gondokait: Varga Mihályt, Nemes Károlyt, Simon Ká­rolyt, Papp Miklóst, Péntek Miklóst, Túri Istvánt és a jelenlegi gondno­kot: ifj. Jenei Józsefet. A vacsora chairmanje Nyíri Sándor volt. Keresztelés: Pandák Béla és Hor­váth Erzsébet, valamint Charles O. Metzger Jr. és Fazekas Margarie szülők gyermekeit részesítette a lel­kész a keresztség sákramentumában a múlt hónapban. Elhunyt: K. Kovács Józsefné, egy­házunk volt orgonistájának az édes­anyja; legyen emléke áldott. Husvétkor kisegítő lelkészek lesz­nek: Rőczey arna hittanhallgató és Rév. Andris Dryer.
