The Pakistan Council of Scientific and Industrial Research This Bulletin has formerly reviewed the science policy in India. Much less is, however, the material at our disposal relating to Pakistan, the other big country of the Indian subcontinent. Based on Pakistani sources, the article outlines the organizational structure and the activity of the country's mechanism of science organization. The technique of writing a research report Based on a major British study,the author summarizes the problems relating to the writing of research reports. Practically, the material may well be used by all those who publish research results, thus by all scientists. The study treats, in detail, the different types of reports, the preparing of an outline, the questions of style , the best methods of making and arranging tables, graphs and illustrations. Not only does the study deal with the work of the author of the report, hut also outlines the editors' technical work. 794
