Ends: Mesnevi by the 15 t h c. poet CAFER ÇELEBI (d. 921/1515). The poet, known as TACİ-ZADE CAFER ÇELEBI in Turkish literature, appears as TAC!BEY-ZADE in some sources. Son ofTaci Bey, defterdar during the time of Sultan Bayezid II (1481-1512). CAFER ÇELEBI grew up in Amasya. Being at Sultan Bayezid II' s service he was nişancı of the Imperial Council ( Divan-ı hümayun) until his death. As kazasker of Anatolia he was sentenced to death by Sultan Selim I (1512-1520) for having been involved in the Janissary rebellions. (AÜ 1998. Dok.t). The Heves-name was written in 899/1493-1494 (145b). In the last chapter of the manuscript, its title is given as Muhabbet-name (145b), as it is the case in many other copies. In sources, the following further copies of the work are known: Nuruosmaniye Library N° 4373; Millî Kütüphane Ankara N° 913; Library of the Türk Dil Kurumu N° 779 and Bibliothéque Nationale N° 300. The manuscript of CAFER ÇELEBI 's (126a) Heves-name in the LHAS is complete. On the last three folios the script differs. It seems that this part was written by another person later. On the last page the complete number of pages is given as follows: aded-i evrak 125.
