THE MANCHU COLLECTION Man. 1 Supplementary Collection of Manchu Language [Words] Blockprint, 1786/1802, 8 volumes (fascicles) in Manchu and Chinese, (6+44), 50, 45, 45, 51, 50, 48, 57+[l] ff., 16.5 : 25.8 (height of the frame: 20.1) cm, 8 columns/page, 1 Manchu/Chinese line or 2 small character Chinese lines/columns printed in black on greyish white, thin Chinese paper with fine wires; now in European binding. Chinese pagination under the marginal volume-marker; continuous pagination per volume; extra pagination in vol. I for the preface and the introduction. Volume number in commercial type Chinese figures, pagination in usual characters. Brush-written black ink volume numbers on the upper right corner of each cover. Brush-written title on the yellowish covers: Qingwen buhui. The same Chinese title appears printed at the beginning of each chapter. The Manchu title, similarly repeated: Manju gisunbe niyeceme isabuga bitxe , approximately: "The Book That Supplemented and Collected the Manchu Language". The Chinese title also reads on the middle margin. Preface inc. vol.
