90 SUMMARY NATURAL- AND SOCIAL SCIENCE INFORMATION SUPPLY AND THE HUNGÁRIÁN ACADEMY OF SCIENCES This publication was intended to inform the library profession. Its chapters are: 1. The increasing interest of the Academy in information 2. Adaptation at the Academy of the computerized data base of the Institute forScientific Information (Philadelphia) 3. Informatics reading room 4. Informatics and infrastructure. The article describes in detail the operation and application of the Science Citation Index and of the ISI publications in the Library. In respect of the social sciences, the article discusses the activity of the Hungárián Social Sciences Information Working Group, the link between the Library and MISON [a Russian acronyme: International Social Sciences Information System of the Socialist Academies] , the beginnings of the establishment of relations with Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique documentation services. The conclusion of the article is: „Even the information produced by the most advanced technique is, when all is said and done, of a secondary nature which has to lead to the primary information, the book, the periodical, the research report. The higher the stand?rd of the scientific work is, the more this applies." It is consequently necessary to surround the computerized services by unión catalogues functioning reliably and such technical equipment (e.g. telex, reprography) which make the complex service system viable.
