A társadalomtudományi információ anyagi és szellemi környezete

164 talában még egy adott országon belül is nehezen bontakoznak ki, nemzetközileg ez hatványozottan igaz. Korszerű együttműködésnek, a hálózati elv érvényesülésének legfőbb mozgató ereje a közös érdekeltség. Ennek egyaránt vannak anyagi és professzionális vonatkozásai. A jelentős kezdeményezések sorába tartozik a MISZON is, aminek III. tudományos konferenciáját e bevezetővel megnyitom és kívánok eredményes közös munkát. SUMMARY THE MATERIAL AND INTELLECTUAL ENVIRONMENT OF SOCIAL SCIENCES INFORMATION This publication is based on the Russian-language text of the opening address of the 3rd scientific conference of MISON. Speaking of an information society, people usually do not think of specialized information but of the channels of mass communication, like television, radio, the press. The latter media influence hundreds of millions of people, but these are intellectually and materially operated by a relatively small number, amounting to a few hundred thousand persons. Nevertheless, due to expertise, this numerically infinitesimal minority of a high standard exercises a decisive influence on social, economic and technical developments. It is this highly qualified group of professionals who need what we call informatics in scientific literature. Within specialized informatics, social science informatics contributes considerably to the formation of the consciousness on the one hand, and to material progress on the other. In this context specialized informatics may be considered one unit. Social science multi-disciplinary computer data bases do not proliferate on the world market. There are several reasons for this. Such are the questions of lexicography, the concentration regional and individual national literatures, and language difficulties. In the last analysis the cause of the relative backwardness of social science computer data bases is, that there are not such effective demands and financial incentives for them as exist in science and technology. But information service, the role of primary literature - including books — is much more important in the social sciences than in science and technology. Consequently, the information service must be linked closely with the supply of documents, and with the techniques and intellectual skills needed for it. It is through these agents that the collections of documents become mobile. Megjelent: Materialü III.Naucsnoj Konferencii MISZON, Budapest, 23-25.Maja 1985 g. Budapest, 1986JMTAK. 19-22.p.
