Balatonlelle - Kenderföld (M7/S-20 lelőhely) In: Az M7-es autópálya Somogy Megyei szakaszának The site 724 Nagyrécse-Sárszegi-patak Kelet was excavated as part of a rescue excavation project of the M7 motorway. Only a small part of the archaeological site was effected by motorway constructions. The archaeological site is situated in Zala county, in the northern part of Nagyrécse, on the eastern side of the Sárszegi stream. The settlement itself is situated on the south-western part of a north-south oriented mound (Fig. 1). The excavation was carried out by Zita Mária Tokai in 2005 from July 25 to August 3. In the southeast part of the future motorway remains of a Celtic semi-subterranean house was revealed on a slightly elevated area. In one of the exploratory trenches a Copper Age pit came to light. Celtic house (Fig. 2) and the Celtic finds are presented. Analogies of the ceramics from the house and the sapropelite bracelet (Figs. 3-5) date the settlement to the La Tène С period. Unfortunately the majority of the settlement is situated outside of the excavated area. From preliminary assessment of the settlement features and finds it can be assumed that the Celtic house at Nagyrécse was a part of a Celtic farmstead, which shows similarities to farmsteads with similar chronological position in the surrounding area in terms of settlement structure and material culture.
