Middle Neolithic This paper examines the Middle Neolithic phase of the settlement of Sormás-Török-földek, which was rescue-excavated prior to motorway construction. Although the Late Neolithic phase of the settlement is predominant, assessment of the earlier phases is just as important. Investigation of the Middle Neolithic phases of the settlement was driven by two considerations. Firstly, the number of known sites of the Starcevo culture from the Transdanubian area is very small, and therefore assessment of every new site is very important.
