Végül politúros felületkezelést adtam a tárgynak. A műtárgy Zalaszentgróton a „Központ a Zala völgyében" című állandó kiállításban látható. Horváth Imre Restoration of folding chair of Renaissance style Several various on a folding chairs of Renaissance style - which has been established from arches of the beech-wood ribs - were wide-spread all over Europe over a period of 15-16. centuries. This folding chair made of beech-wood in the second half of the 19 th century, the chair dates back to the age of historicism. The work of art were descended from a furnishing of family palást of a count Batthyány. The legs of chair were damaged by noxious insects, and there were cracked. Pieces of small size in front of both chair-legs were missing, and the holes for joining by tenon and mortise were worn-out, showing shortage of material. At the junction point of leg and elbow-rest of chair the construction was broken or missing, and the leg and the elbow-rest became detached. At first for farther repairing the restorer removed the legs and elbow-restof chair. The restorer as usual has extracted the dust from work of art, then for wet cleaning used lather of watered solution compounded from fatty alcohol and sulphate. The chair was disinfected with wood-borer poison, so-called Xylamon disinfectant. For established of parts of legs the work of art was impregnated with synthetic resin so-called Embaleum LX Härtend. The complements carved out of beech-wood, then the wood was stained with wood dye so-called Achilles. For the fitting of complements the restorer covered up the places of supplying with thin polythene foil, then on to that foil layed the repair paste in thin layer. After the hardening of repair paste the complements were placed with gluing so-called Emfibois on the places of supplying. There are retouched with water-colour painting. Then the legs and elbow-rest of chair were blocked a screw to a slitand-tongue junction with a wooden pins, as an originally. In the end the chair was varnished over shellac in denaturated alcoholic solution. 15
