During the centuries it had various functions: it was hospital, post office and also health centre. (Nowadays the head office of the Post Bank.) 16. Enlarged with a second floor in the middle of the 19th century. From 1872 the seat of the county offices. Today archive and block of offices. 18. The town's most elegant hotel, built at the corner of the two main roads, was opened in 1894. 20. Portrait of Károly Kovács, Egerszeg's first Mayor, from his marble tombstone, erected out of respect for him by the town in 1904. It was standing on his honorary grave in the perished Wlassics Street cemetery. Nowadays it is set up on Károly Kovács Square. 21.
