Marina SIMEK AS REGARDS THE FINDING OF THE MOULD OF ST. PETER OF LUDBREG ON METALURGICAL ACTIVITY IN THE SOUTH-WESTERN PART OF CROATIA AT THE BEGINNING OF EARLY IRON AGE During the archaeological excavations, performed in 1960 at the location of Staro Groblje, St. Peter of Ludbreg, a pre-historic settlement dating into the early Iron Age, was found. Minor protective exavations in 1977 and 1978 disclosed the most important finding of this site, a fragment af a bronze pitcher. The versatility of the preserved inventory (moulds, tube, core) point to the features of the site as having been an important metalurgical centre of the region of the region of Podravina, Croatia and the nearby Medjimurje, Croatia, as well as to numerous features, through which this workshop is linked to the well-known metalurgical centre of Velem, Hungary. It is for the first time that a complete inventory of the heritage dating back to the 8th Century B. C. has been presented. 58
