Vig Károly: Zoological Research in Western Hungary. A history (Szombathely, 2003)

Historical survey 5 7 Staff from many Hungarian research establishments, coordinated by the Hungarian Natural History Museum, made regular collections in the FertőHanság National Park in 1995-2001. During the first stage, collection was concentrated on the Hanság district, followed later by the areas round Fertő, and finally, by Szárhalom Wood and the Lake Fehér district. During the processing, 6408 animal species were found, of which 10 were new to science and 196 new to the Hungarian fauna (MAHUNICA 2002) (Figure 2.36). Figure 2.36.
