Historical survey 55 Figure 2.35. The covers of the first two volumes publishing the zoological findings of the Natural History of the Őrség research programme Area. This was done by staff of the Zoology Department at the Dániel Berzsenyi Teachers' Training College (today the Dániel Berzsenyi College) in Szombathely (SZINETÁR and GYURÁCZ 1993). Previously there had been practically no information available on the invertebrate zoological assets of the area, apart from the large but­terflies and moths, although more was known about the vertebrate fauna. A Csörnöc Valley Nature-Protection Research Camp is held every year out­side Szarvaskend, to gather data and help imbue young people with attitudes conducive to nature protection (BÁN­HiDi 1996a; GYURÁCZ 1997a).
