RÉGÉSZET - Buócz Terézia: AGYAGKORONG A SZOMBATHELYI JÁRDÁNYI PAULOVICS ISTVÁN ROMKERTBŐL

Buócz Terézia Terézia Buocz THE CLAY DISK NEGATIVE OF STEVEN JÁRDÁNYI PAULOVICS RUIN GARDEN In 1823 the Hungarian National Museum's archeological collection increased with four pieces molding from of clay disk. Since then more 150 year passed when a new clay disk negative get to surface at the excavation in Steven Járdányi Paulovics Ruin Garden. From the great intersection nordward at the nordwestern and southeartem corner under the building complexum laying opposite to the costum controll house there was the clay disk. This layer belong to pottery factory. Constantinus medall stamped A. d. 328-29 was layed under weak qualificated terrazzo pavement. An Agrippa senior sestercius, issued in Rome A. d. 42 and a Claudius as stamped in Rome too in 41 are originated from the lowest gray layer. The last one was got to surface with a strongly profiled fibule together. The age of fibule dated back to A. d. end of 1-st century and 3-rd quater of 2-nd century. Excavated pottery fragment of the yellow clayery layer laying above the medall- which our clay disk originated from - dates back to end of 1-st century and the beginning of 2-nd century. From the yellowish gray layer straching above it - what the later building complexum's basic wall was built in - excavated pottery fragment can be dated too to the end of 1-st century and beginnig of 2-nd century A. d.. Among potteries there ara great mass shining surfaced dark gray clay plates imitating Drag. 37. tiped sigillata plates. They are with their ringed buttom fragment whose inner part in there are sealed leaves. We founded same principles with them in roman cemetery, excavated at Paragvári (Hámán Kató ) street in Szombathely. The age of this cemetery dates back to betwean A. d. 85 and 104 on the evidence of the medall fossils. The pattern surreunded with disserted concentric, round of the clay disk's negative rim, which is excavated in Ruin Garden remind us. The rim's outer upstanding thicker part is failed. A women figure going to leftward is deepened in the surface of the disk. On the fragment figure's upper part is described in profile, her head and her hands did not remind us. Her opening leg bends strougly, she fits to the ship with her sole. She wores sandal on her legs. Her left leg twisting out on the face wiew point, swinging back her leg, pushes off shore. On the ships side hardy any visible light lines are closely ruled. Her thicky winkled clothes reaching to the ankle flaps back. Binded girde below her bust is visible yet. Traces of the hollowed wawing wail behind her back and her stricking forward hand's lower part are removable yet. In the front of figure the bow, tossed by wind remind us starting from right soil head. The palm tree stand behind of the figure hanging with crops. We found iconografical paralell on Delosian and Alexandrian lucen disk's scene. In Fine Art Museum of Budapest a monumental statue, originated from Napoli describes Isis Pelagia. It is a copy of an Alexandrian Greece Factory's origin. Relief of an Aquincum's roman stone dating back to turning of 2-nd an 3 nd century A.D. corresponds to picturese composition of Ruin Garden iconografically. Artificial execution is more enervált and weaker. Only its prototype is common with one of Ruin Garden. Describing of Isis Pharia often appears on the earlier medall's reserve of the caesar age, on the issued medall's, from beginning of Domitianus arcross Traianus, Hadrianus, Antonius Pius, Marcus Aurelius and Lucius Verus. On the backward of medall, stamped by Sabina's portrey not only the her legkeeping, her 184
