Régészet - TÓTH Zsuzsanna: Néhány idol Szombathely-oladi-plató késő-neolit településéről

Some idolfragments from the final neolithic site of Szombathely-Oladi plató (Western Hungary) The site, situating on the western border of the city Szombathely following the flow of the Perint stream, was excavatedfrom 2005 till 2007 by Gábor Hon, who found two settlement concentrations in 600 metres distance. One of them belongs to the Lengyel-Culture, in the final neolithic. This site is about 3 hectars big and contains some hudreds of archaeological features. Features 1, 184 and 370 are interpreted as ceremonial ones because the large number of unique finds (idols, altars, animal representations, thrones). All of the finds L presented in this paper comes from the huge, amorf but roughly oval feature 1. The first fragment is a typical biconical head of the Early Lengyel Culture with flat top and the incised and painted representaion of the hairline, eyebrows and eyes. The second one is a figurine in quite a good condition, but without head, strong­ly steatopygic, small knobs representing the knees, breasts and the belly button. The last one is an upper body, where the arms are pressed close to is. The elbow is pointed, the hands are held upward to the clavicle. The site is unique in Hungary, not just because the finds, but this is the first, good excavated site from this transitional period of the Lengyel Culture to the Early Calssical Phase.
