SUMMARY First outline of the braconid fauna of the Foothills of Alps (Western Hungary) (Hymenoptera, Braconidae) U. Helconinae, Calyptinae, Meteorinae, Microgastrinae, Cheloninae and Orgilinae Hundred and forty-two braconid species are reported from the Foothills of Alps (=Alpokalja, in Hungarian), Western Hungary. The species share among six subfamilies (in brackets the respective species numbers): Helconinae (12), Calyptinae (28), Meteorinae (9), Microgastrinae (59), Cheloninae (27) and Orgilinae (7). The localities are arranged, after MÓCZÁR (1967, 1972), according to the zoogeoraphical district of the Foothills of Alps, they are as follows (Map I): 1/2: Arrabonicum, V/l: Ginsicum, V/2: Scarabanticum, V/3: Styriacum, VJ/2: Praeillyricum. Within each district the localities are enumerated in their alphabetical order. Faunistically the following 49 species are significant giving some zoogeoraphical character to the region in question: (Helconinae.)
