Nagy, Barnabás–Szövényi, Gergely: Orthopteroid insects of Őrség Landscape Conservation Area (Western Hungary)
SA VARIA, 24/2 (Pars historico-naturalis) The most common Orthoptera assemblages were dominated mostly by hygro-mesopilous species (e.g., Chrysochraon dispar, Euthysthira brachyptera, Roeseliana roeseli, Conocephalus discolor, Chorthippus parallelus, Chorthippus dorsatus), while xerophilous species (e.g., Stenobothrus nigromaculatus, Calliptamus italicus) were represented very sporadically. We think that the low diversity of the Orthoptera fauna is due mainly to the sparse distribution of xeric habitats. However, it is probable that the species richness were higher, should the collection efforts be more intensive during August and September. Fig. 1. Occurrence and dispersion of Odontopodisma schmidti, O. decipiens and Miramella a. alpina (?) in SW Hungary. In spite of the low species number, the region öf Őrség could be fairly characterized by the presence of a small, but characteristic species-group; namely by the Odontopodisma schmidti, Miramella a. alpina (?) and Isophya brevipennis.
