MERKL, О.: Hie species of 27 beetle families (Coleoptera) from Őrség, Western Hungary MONOTOMIDAE Cyanostolus aerseus (Richter, 1820) — Csörötnek: Huszászi-patak völgye, 02.09.1989, ÁL (1, HNHM); Szakonyfalu, 04.06.1968, HoS (1, HNHM). — It is a rare inhabitant of deciduous forests. Further Hungarian localities (Fig. 3.): Abaliget (BS71); Nagyvisnyó: Elza-lak (DU53); Pilisszentkereszt: Vaskapu (CT48); Porva: Hódos-ér (YN14); Sárvár (XN43); Zebegény (CT49). Rhizophagus depressus (Fabricius, 1792) — Szalafő, 13.03.1982, PA (1, HNHM). — It is widely distributed but uncommon in planted and indigenous coni­fer forests of Hungary. Rhizophagus picipes (Olivier, 1790) — Csörötnek: Huszászi-patak völgye, 09.07.1983, SzD (1, HNHM). — Although widely distributed, it is one of the rarer species of the family. Rhizophagus ferrugineus (Paykull, 1800) — Csörötnek: Huszászi-patak völgye, 09.07.1983, SzD­AL (8, SM), (5, HNHM); Őriszentpéter: Bárkás-tó, 23.05.1983, PA (5, SM), (2, HNHM); Szalafő, 21-28.05.1983, PA (1, HNHM); Viszák, 19.04.1987, PA (1, SM). — It is a rarity of the mountainous regions in Hungary. Rhizophagus perforatus Erichson, 1845 — Őriszentpéter: Bárkás-tó, 19.04.1987, PA (1, SM); Szalafő: Borjas-erdő, 03.05.1985, RI (4, pcIR); Szőce, 01-02.05.1986, 19-20.04.1987, PA (2, SM); 17-19.04.1987, RI (1, pcIR). — It is widely distributed and not uncommon in the mountainous forests of Hungary. Rhizophagus bipustulatus (Fabricius, 1792) — Máriaújfalu, 04.06.1979, PA (1, HNHM); Szőce [7], 13-15.11.1961, E-YS-KZ (22, HNHM). — This is the most common species of the family. It is widely distributed in the leaflitter and under bark in conifer and deciduous forests all over the country. Rhizophagus cribratus Gyllenhal, 1827 — Csörötnek: Sásos-erdő, 1980.05.04,, ÁL (6, HNHM); Őriszentpéter: Bárkás-tó, 23.05.1983, PA (1, HNHM) — It is widely distributed but uncommon in the larger forests of Hun­gary. Monotonia angusticollis Gyllenhal, 1827 — Máriaújfalu, 1983.5.22., PA (1, SM). — An inquiline of ants, it is widely distributed but quite rarely encoun­tered in Hungary. Monotonia conicicotiis Aube, 1837 — Another inquiline of ants, it is also rare in Hungary. HORVATOVICH (1980: 39) mentioned it from Magyarszombatfa. Monotonia iongicoilis (Gyllenhal, 1827) — Csörötnek: Huszászi-patak völgye, 09.07.1983, SzD (1, pcSzD). — It is uncommon in plant debris. Monotonia picipes Herbst, 1793 — Apátistvánfalva, 22-23.06.1993, 19­20.07.1993, TCs-VK (2, SM); Csörötnek: Huszászi-patak völgye, 09.07.1983, SzD (1, SM), (1, pcSzD). — It is common in plant debris all over Hungary. SlLVANIDAE Uleiota planata (Linnaeus, 1761) — Felsőszölnök: Halál-völgy; Kondorfa: Huszászi-patak völgye, Nagy-Avas; Szakonyfalu; Szalafő: Borjas-erdŐ; Szőce; Viszák; Viszák: Csikó-erdő. — Living under bark, it is common in all kinds of arboreal habitats of Hungary. 126
