Its foodplants are Quercus, Castanea, Fagus, Carpinus, Populus, Salix and Ulmus species. The determined beetles are to be found: (SM), (pcPA). PLATYPODIDAE Platypus cylindrus (Fabricius, 1792) — Csörötnek: Apátsági-erdő, 10.07.1982, ÁL, 05.07.1985, SzD; Csörötnek: Huszászi-patak, 20.08.1984, RI; Máriaújfalu, 30.07.1979, ÁL; Szakonyfalu, 23.07.1978, HS-SJ. — Distribution: North Africa, Europe and Asia Minor. Its food-plants are Quercus, Fagus, Fraxinus and Castanea species. The voucher specimens are deposited: (SM), (HNHM), (JPM), (pcRI).
