Szinetár, Csaba: Data to the Araneae fauna of Őrség (Western Hungary)

A VAS MEGYEI MÚZEUMOK ÉRTESÍTŐJE (1992-1995) Szombathely 22/2 (Pars historico-naturalis) 1995 Natural History of Őrség Landscape Conservation Area, 1995 DATA TO THE ARANEAE FAUNA OF ŐRSÉG (WESTERN HUNGARY) Csaba SZINETÁR 1 Data to the Araneae fauna of Órség (Western Hungary) — The publication reports on the results of the work team of the Savaria Museum (Szombathely) accomplished from 12.05.1993 to 09.08.1994 in the territory of őrség. A total of 2420 specimens from 15 localities were collected which belong to 82 species. Diaea pictilis (Banks, 1896) is new to the fauna of Hungary. From among the rarer species some deserve mentioning: Bathyphantes similis Kulczynsky,1894, Dipoenaprona (Menge, 1868), Phaeocedus braccatus (L. Koch, 1866), Philaeus crysops (Poda, 1761). INTRODUCTION In spite of the fact, that there is more data published about spiders from Őrség by some authors (HERMAN, 1876-79; CHYZER and KULCZYNSKI, 1891-1897), we have detailed faunistic data only about some smaller areas. Efficient gatherings were carried out only on the eastern part of the area at recent past (SZINETÁR, 1988, 1992, 1995). Present study reports the collecting data of spiders collected by Csaba THURÓCZY and Károly VÍG (Savaria Museum, Szombathely) in 1993-1994. Samples were carried out by using sweepnet above all in moorlands and different types of meadow. The majority of the searchings was executed on the area of Vendvidék. The collectings were made in summertime, therefore they offer a notion about the spider community typical on herb layer of meadows in summer. The localities and the data of samples are given in the list of species behind the species name. More information occurs at some remarkable species. RESULTS The total number of 2420 spider specimens belong to 82 species. Most of them are juveniles (84,3 %), follow by adult females (8,9 %) and males (6,73 %). The majority of the species are frequent and characteristic ones of moist meadows. Some Berzsenyi College, Department of Zoology H-9700 Szombathely, Károlyi Gáspár tér 4., Hungary Vig, K.
