Galerucella nymphaeae (Linnaeus, 1758) HUNGARY — Bács-Kiskun county: Hercegszántó, 27.V.1990, PA; Veszprém county: Bakony, Csesznek: Ördög-árok, 16.V.1982, PA. Distribution in the Carpathian Basin: It was considered as a rather rare species in the country. Recent investigations revealed that this species is widely distributed and locally common in warm waters on various native and introduced Nymphaea species (BÜRGÉS and HORVÁTH 1998). On the other hand, Galerucella nymphaeae (Linnaeus) turned to be a species-complex (LOHSE 1989), so further revision of the Hungarian material is needed to clarify the possible occurrence of members of the complex in the country. General distribution: Europe, Central Asia, Siberia, Northeastern China, Japan, North America. 95
