Distribution in the Carpathian Basin: Occurs on the hilly and mountainous regions of the Carpathian Basin, common in the Carpathians, uncommon on the plains. Its food plants are Salix, Populus and Alnus species. General distribution: Europe, West Siberia, Kazakhstan. Cryptocephalus parvulus O. F. Distribution in the Carpathian Basin: Rare species distributed on wet, moist habitats of the plains. It was recently reported from Western Hungary (ViG 1996) and Villány Hills (South Hungary) (ViG 2(300), General distribution: Europe, Asia Minor, Kazakhstan, Siberia. Cryptocephalus pini (Linnaeus, 1758) HUNGARY — Veszprém county: Balaton-felvidék, Dörgicse, 6.XI.1978, PA (b). Distribution in the Carpathian Basin: Distributed where either native or cultivated Pinus, Juniperus and Larix stands occur, but quite rare. General distribution: Europe, Siberia.
