Praenorica Folia histbrico-naturalia, V (2002) HUNGARY — Nógrád county: Szécsény, 24. V. 1956, PA; Pest county: Máriabesnyő, 29.V.1960, PA; Pilis, Gyopár-forrás, 16.V.1954, PA; Leányfalu, 27.V.1971, 7.VI.1970, PA [2]; Veszprém county: Balaton-felvidék, Balatonszepezd, 8.V.1976, PA; Kiliántelep, 22.V.1977, PA; Tihany, 7.V.1983, PA [5]. Distribution in the Carpathian Basin: It can be found where its food plant, Corylus avellana L. grows. Common from April up to the end of May. General distribution: Europe, Kazakhstan, Siberia, Korea. Cryptocephalus decemmaculatus (Linnaeus, 1758) HUNGARY — Győr-Moson-Sopron county: Dunakiliti: Tejfalu-sziget, 16.VII.1989, PA [3]; Vas county: Őrség, Farkasfa, 10.VH.1986, PA [2]; Szalafő, 8.VII.1986, PA [15]; Zala county: Hetés, Kerkafalva, 11.VII. 1986, PA. Distribution in the Carpathian Basin: Its scattered localities are known from the Carpathians. In the recent territory of Hungary, it has formerly been recorded only from cold and marshy habitats of the lowland: Bátorliget and Csaroda (Northeastern Hungary) and Ócsa (Pest county). All these three areas are isolated mire regions of some glacial relict character. On the basis of its locality data, C. decemmmaculatus (Linnaeus) was regarded as glacial relict in the Carpathian Basin. Recently, several specimens were captured on wet meadows of Őrség (Western Hungary) (ViG and ROZNER 1996). In spite of the fact that the flora and fauna of Őrség are also considered to have some glacial relict elements, we should reject the idea that C. decemmmaculatus (Linnaeus) is glacial relict. The rejection could be reinforced in the light of new localities mentioned above. C. decemmmaculatus (Linnaeus) usually feeds on Salix cinerea L. but it was beaten from Salix aurita L. at Bátorliget. General distribution: Northern and Mid Europe, Siberia. Cryptocephalus elegantulus Gravenhorst, 1807 BULGARIA — Pirin Mts., Rozenski man [=Rozhenski manastir], 30.VI.1976, PA [8]. HUNGARY — Veszprém county: Balaton-felvidék, Balatonarács, 25.VI.1978, PA; Vászoly, 7.VII.1978, PA [3]. Distribution in the Carpathian Basin: Locally frequent on dry grassy slopes of the hilly areas. Its food plants are Artemisia species. General distribution: Europe, Caucasus, Siberia, Mongolia. 37
