X 2008 VAS MEGYE CINCÉRFAUNÁJA (COLEOPTERA: CERAMBYCIDAE) NAGY Ferenc 1 - VÍG Károly 2 Cerambycidae (Coleoptera) of Vas County (Western Hungary) — This summary article covers collection data for all long-horned beetle species found in the territory of Vas County or mentioned in faunistic literature, as well as still uncatalogued and unpublished long-horned beetle material in the Savaria Museum (Szombathely) and in the private collection of Ferenc NAGY (Szombathely) that originates from Vas County. Data in earlier faunistic literature and more recent collections yield a total of 161 known long-horned beetle species in Vas County. Despite earlier reports, research suggests that the following do not occur in the territory: Prinobius myardi, Stictoleptura erythroptera, Rosalia alpina, Ropalopus clavipes, Callidium coriaceum, Poecilium fasciatus, Lioderina linearis, Clytus tropicus, Monochamus sartor sartor, Pedestredorcadion scopolii, Saperda similis, S. octopunctata, Agapanthia dahli. Occurrence of these species in Vas County is uncertain and requires confirmation, as there is no voucher specimen available. With a few exceptions, these doubtful data come from the 1878 communication of Alfonz FREH and his manuscript catalogue closed in 1893, published by CsiKl in 1941. Of these, occurrences in Vas County of Prinobius myardi can be excluded, and those of Stictoleptura erythroptera, Callidium coriaceum and Lioderina linearis taken as extremely unlikely. This enumeration includes 3 species whose occurrence in Vas County is previously unpublished: Saperda perforata, Theophilea subcylindricollis and Etorufus pubescens. The later is new to the fauna of Hungary. Data on the long-horned beetle fauna of Vas County came first from the Kőszeg Hills: Alfonz FREH published the occurrence of 81 species in Kőszeg. Later data from the Kőszeg Hills was published by Dezső KUTHY (1897), Jenő VANGEL (1906) and Ernő CSÍKI (1905-1908). In 1937, Zoltán KASZAB published his Compendium of the beetle fauna of the Kőszeg Hills, which was the first study to cover the findings of regular faunistic surveys and earlier known data. He reported the occurrence of 111 cerambycid species. Ernő CsiKi's 1941 work published 14 new long-horned beetle species. There are data of 1 H-9700 Szombathely, Barátság u. 14.
