SUMMARY The aim of my work to catalogize and elaborate Neolithic finds of nyíri Mezőség. Only a small part of almost 60 spots comes from authentic excavations, so the material of settlement excavations at Tiszavasvári-Köztemető and Tiszalbk-Hajnalos made it possible to gather important information. After the examining of the whole archaeological material my results can be summarized as follows: In accordance with Neolithic climatic conditions in the Carpathian Basin the topographic situation of the settlements depended mainly on the factors of inhabitation geography. After projecting the settlements on a map we can conclude that one of the most important factors was the line of roads leading to the crossing places of Tisza. After the observation of archaeological finds it turned definetely out that in this territory no find from the Early Neolithic has been emerged; examining the origins of Alföld Linear Band Ceramic it means that in Nyíri Mezőség - that is supposed to be the main region Tiszadob Group - or in wider aspect in North-East Alföld, the formation of this culture can not be traced. On the basis of archaeological finds we can conclude that in this region the Tiszadob Group of Middle Neolithic was the first to appear in this age. We miss finds of Alföld Linear Band Ceramic Culture, that is supposed to be earlier, so today it is impossible yet to describe the genesis of this culture. In connection the inner chronology of the Alföld Linear Band Ceramic. To solve them we need excavations in different geographical areas of Upper Tisza region.
