Ways of interpretation of Transylvanian Late Roman Age finds in the Romanian archaeology After the surrender of province Dacia by Romans, the territory was occupied by the population of the Marosszentanna/Säntana de Mure§-Chemyahov Culture. History textbooks in a didactic way sharply divide historic peoples and periods following each other. Opposite of it, archaeological finds attest more to transitional periods between different periods and to peoples living side by side. Though archaeology is not able to give clear answers - that is why we have so many different interpretations -, we can certainly state that the new culture (Gothic tribal alliance known from historical sources) arrived to a territory that was not empty either from demographic, or from cultural point of view. Goths achieved their top power in the 4th century being the determining political force of the region. They did not disappear without any traces at the end of the century. 146
