Egy kortárs tanár-író adománya a Jósa András Múzeumnak In 2000, his activity was acknowledged by Niveau Prize, while in 2002, the town awarded him with a life achievement award for his eminent activity in the field of public education. Beside teaching, he wrote poems, short stories, articles in journals, publications on linguistics and book reviews and successfully took part in literary and pedagogic competitions. His scientific and literary publications appeared in various journals and volumes from the mid-60’s. His writings can be read in periodicals, newspapers, anthologies, among others in Zempléni Múzsa, in the anthology of poetry titled Földet ér vándorlásunk [Our wandering has reached the earth], Napút, Pedagógiai Szemle, the anthology István Király szerelmei [King Stephen’s love], the volume Versek a Tiszáról [Poems on the Tisza], Sárospataki Pedagógiai füzetek, Bibliotheca Comeniana. His writings were annually published in the Széphalom edition of the Kazinczy Society. He took part in national competitions. He won first prize in the topic of boarding school education in 1987, second prize in the topic of school democracy in 1988 and was honourably mentioned for his essay on pedagogy in 1991. In 1992 he was placed high in a competition of short novels, and the same year he was 4th in a national competition on the analysis of a poem by János Arany. The monetary prize and the certificate of merit were handed over by Mihály Czine. He was awarded with Comenius Medal, the jury presided by György Faludy awarded him with the 3rd prize in a competition of poetry on the Tisza. He also proved successful in county competitions. In 2000 he was second and got a special prize for the analysis of József Pesti’s revolutionary poems, which the poet himself handed over to him. In the competitions of the Napút, he took part with haikus even this year. He was among the ones who won, so a few poems were published in the periodical. The material that he offered to the Collection of Literature of the Jósa András Museum contains the manuscripts of his works published in Aladár Halászi’s volumes and also works that have not yet been edited. His writings belong to various genres: aphorisms, poems, haikus, short stories, translations, essays, linguistic analyses, lectures, writings on pedagogy, and he also reflected on the events of public life.
