TERDIK Szilveszter H-4235 Biri Mező Imre utca 17. e-mail: terdik.szilveszter@gmail.com Unknown sources on the construction and interior decoration of the pilgrimage church of Máriapócs Village of Pócs situated in NE-Hungary became an important place of pilgrimage for Greek Catholic and Roman Catholic congregation after two miraculous wheepings (in 1696 and in 1715) of the Theotokos icon in the timber church. After a time, the old timber church was not able to receive large crowds of pilgrims, so a new pilgrim church was built at the place of the old one. Only basic years of the history of construction of this still standing building were known, but we had no data on the master craftsmen and budgets of the works. In 2006 in the historical archives of the Mukacheve Greek Catholic Diocese, kept in Beregovo several sources, unknown to this moment were found. These documents give us idea on the history of construction, contracts, budgets of craftsmen working on the interior decoration and pieces of furniture. The present study makes more accurate the building data of the church and publishes the complete text of several documents in the appendix. The first plan of the church was made by builder Nicodemus Liczky from Kassa in 1730 (Eger, Archiépiscopal Archives). Construction works started in 1731, but stopped because of the
