Southern French chronicle Notes of a reader To Péter Németh with friendly greetings from the age of chivalry With this dedication the author has chosen several parts from his work under preparation "The chronicle of the Toulouse counts". This literary work on historic topic talks about the beginnings of the Frankish Christianity, the far reaching activity of the counts of Provence and Languedoc. It displays some characteristic episodes of the age of the crusades and heretic Kathar/Albigensian movements. The main role of the age was played by Raymond IV (1041-1105), who fought in all battles of the common army of Mediaeval Europe with hjs Provence troops equipped on his own expense. He was the first to venture the liberation of the Holy Grave, and after the victory, similarly to all of the troop commanders, started a private campaign.
