Börcsök Zoltán: Botanikai vizsgálatok a Péterhidai Fás Legelőn
278 Botanical studies on the woody meadow of Péterhida (Somogy county, Hungary) ZOLTÁN BÖRCSÖK This paper describes the state of the overgrown pasture of Péterhida and gives some proposals from nature conservation point of view to preserve the structure of vegetation on the overgrown pasture. Péterhida is a small village in Somogy county (Hungary). As the activity of population and the number of domesticated animals are decreasing continuously so the successional changes are rapid. During the examination about 200 species was identified, the species were categorized into groups on the basis of their ecological status. Forest-plants are: Anemone ranunculoides, Galanthus nivalis protected by law: Epipactis helleborine, plants of dry grass: Betonica officinalis, Festuca pseudovina, etc. Several spots of weeds have already been frequent in the pastures (Solidago gigantea, Calamagrostis epigeios, Asclepias syriaca). During the fieldwork, the data of big trees were also examined (height, diameter, state of health, amount of seeds were also measured). The most frequent trees are Carpinus betulus and Acer campestre, but some fruit-trees (Malus sylvestris, Pyrus pyraster) also occur. The oldest trees are oaks (Quercus robur), with bad health conditions. Shrubs have been spreading nowadays. To preserve the present state of the overgrown pasture it should be grazed by livestock or the lower plants should be mowed especially on the weedy parts of the habitats.
