K. Zoffmann Zsuzsanna: A késő-rézkori Kostolac-kultúra hamvasztott embertani leletei Balatonboglár–Berekre-dűlő lelőhelyről

163 The cremated anthropological finds of the Late Copper Age Kostolac culture from the Balatonboglár-Berekre dűlő site ZSUZSANNA К. ZOFFMANN Nine Late Copper Age cremation burials were unearthed at the Balatonboglár site (M7/S-24), which can archaeologically be dated from the Kostolac culture. The graves yielded relatively many calcined bone fragments with a number of identifiable fragments. Thus we could determine that 2 women (a girl who died at the age of 15—16 was already in a reproductive age), 3 new-born babies and 4 small children were buried here. The age of the children at the time of the death ranged between 0.00 and 3 or 4 years at the maximum. This is the interval where the mortality rate of new-born babies and small infants is the highest. The grave group most probably contains the graves of the children of one or two mothers, who died subsequently, naturally, at a young age. The graves of the three small children found somewhat farther at the same site (MENDE, cit. BONDÁR 1996: 0.6—1.0 yearold, 6—8 year-old and 1—2 year-old) imply that more than one grave group of this type could belong to a community.
