K. Zoffmann Zsuzsanna: A Badeni népesség Balatonőszöd lelőhelyről való embertani leleteinek ismertetése
A BADENI NÉPESSÉG BALATONŐSZÖD LELŐHELYRŐL VALÓ 125 EMBERTANI LELETEINEK ISMERTETÉSE Anthropological Study on the Baden Population of the Balatonőszöd Site K. ZOFFMANN ZSUZSANNA The excavation at the Balatonőszöd-Temetői dűlő site resulted all in all the osteological remains of 45 persons, who can be grouped among the population the Late Copper Age Boleraz Culture and the Baden Culture. Since it was not possible to categorize in all cases the cultural relationship of the skeletons, the material of the Boleraz Culture, which is the introductory phase of the Baden Culture, all finds were considered as one series during the investigation. The anthropological remains were preserved in fragmentary and incomplete condition, therefore, the anthropological analysis yielded only limited results. The demographic distribution of the series is unreal, and the data could not definitely answer, who were buried to mass graves, who were placed to separate graves, besides, who were put to ritual pits, and who were impiously thrown to other (ritual?) pits. The investigation revealed several symptoms of various diseases (anaemia, fractures, and inflammation), but neither signs of violent death (striking, cutting, cutting off the head), nor post-mortal mutilation of the body were noticed on the severely fragmented bones.
