Besides it was considered to have been a semi-official government paper, it was published in German, that is why it was able to act medium between the native influential circles and abroad. Its authors were of assimilated Jewish intellectual origin. As a result on one hand the daily was uncommonly open for the contemporary international trends of ideas, on the other hand it showed indifference to the current home values and problems. The volume of the „Pester Lloyd Cultural Repertory" complies the events of the intellectual fermenting at the beginning of the century aiming at completeness ranging all arts and intellectual activities. It processes the articles published in the paper from the news to the reviews and analysing, evaluating writings. Being a representative paper of the city press first of all it paid attention to the capital and abroad, the provinces were played down in the news column and even were not present in the reviews. So above all the repertory complemented with somogy county connection gives additional to the life, activity and reception of the artists Mihály Zichy, József Rippl-Rónai, János Vaszary and scientists Henrik Marczali and Áron Szilády - all of them of Somogy origin, who are considered to be honoured members of the history of the Hungarian civilization. Besides them wide publicity was given to the favourites of the period like György Verő, Imre Földes who are considered to be less remarkable today. In comparison with the personalities with reputation all over the country the paper pays much less attention to the actual local events which mostly coincide with the guest performances by the artists of the capital. We can be informed about these events from the news referring to Kaposvár. This work is the supplement of the volume Cultural Repertory of Pester Lloyd 1900-1902, so its registry numbers relate to the concerning register of the original repertory containing 5000 articles.
