Metallography Hegedűs Z.: Honfoglaláskori vastárgyak és salakok metallográfiai vizsgálatainak tanulságai (Teachings of the metallographic tests of iron articles and slags dating from the time of the Hungarian settlement) = Történeti Szemle, Vol. 3,1960. No. 1. pp. 119-129. (In Hungarian) Metallographical tests of iron artifacts and slags dating from the time of the Hungarian settlement are outlined. Among the iron artifacts there were hot worked, cold worked and carburized arrow-heads, moreover, there were found partly or in their full mass martensitically hardened arrow-heads, and this fact refers to highly developed iron processing knowledge. Hegedűs Z.: A diósgyőri Központi Kohászati Múzeum és a soproni Liszt Ferenc Múzeum vasbucáinak vizsgálata (Testing of the iron pigs of the Central Siderurgical Museum of Diósgyőr and Liszt Ferenc Museum of Sopron). = Történeti Szemle, Vol. 5, 1961, pp. 94—106 (In Hungarian) Tests were performed on iron pigs originating from different finds and specified as dating from Celtic times. The C-content of the pig from Szalocska is low and its texture is in accordance with that The other iron pigs have greater C-contents and their texture is cementitic-perlitic. The texture, the large weight and large dimensions and the big cutting make contestable the dating from the Celtic times. Hegedűs Z. — Nováki Gy.: Adatok a Sopron-magashídi vasolvasztó telepről. (Some data on the iron-smelting site at Sopron-Magashíd = Kohászati Lapok Vol. 94. 1961, No 8. pp. 373-378.(In Hungarian) Three Roman iron-smelting furnaces were discovered near Sopron-Magashíd. Some conclusions are drawn from the remains of walls and slag found there. Hegedűs Z.: A 14—16. századi bronz keresztelő medencék öntészeti vonatkozásai (Some remarks on the foundry technology of bronze baptismal fonts of the 14th to 16th centuries) = Kohászati Lapok, öntöde Vol. 29, 1978. No. 6, pp. 122-130.(In Hungarian) The author furnishes a brief description of the shape and execution of cast baptismal fonts in Hungarian and foreign contemporary records. He describes the probable technology of founding of these fonts. Hegedűs Z.: Az öntöttvas táblák készítése és az 1958-as Selmecbányái sírtábla vizsgálata (The making of cast iron tablets and the study of the grave tablet of 1598 from Selmecbánya). = Kohászati Lapok, öntöde Vol. 30, 1979. No. 10. pp. 235-239. (In Hungarian) The molding and casting of cast iron tablets and the method of iron melting from sources of the XVth—XVIIIth centuries are discussed. The author describes the results of investigating the Polixenia grave tablet which bears the date of 1598.
