NÓGRÁDI S. és UHERKOVICH Á.: MAGYARORSZÁG TEGZESEI (TRICHOPTERA) 377 In Chapter 11 the Appendices are found, i.e. Tables, Maps and Diagrams. All of these have English captions and headings as well. Table 40 shows the main numbers of our computer database, e.g. number of localities, the adults by sexes, total number of specimens recorded in the database. Altogether 758 337 adults were recorded from Hungary, as mentioned before. Table 41 shows the occurrence of each species by geographical regions, as in Fig 9. We distinguish between certain and doubtful occurrence, and we also treat old data separately. The following part contains 204 distribution maps of Hungarian caddisflies discussed in Chapter 5. These maps were constructed from the computer database and literature. One dot can represent more sites. Some literature data were not considered due to misidentifications, lack of voucher specimens, very improbable data etc. The Appendix finally contains 80 activity graphs of certain species also cited within text of Chapter 5. The pictures appearing in this volume were taken by one of the authors, A. Uherk- ovich (except for one photograph taken by H. Malicky), and they show some beautiful and characteristic caddisfly biotopes, and Hungary’s most valuable species. These biotopes are well known, as the authors visited them regularly to take samples and to learn about their caddisfly communities. The bulk of our field work for the study of Hungarian caddisflies has already been accomplished. In the future we intend to study the change to certain caddisfly communities of some rivers, and to revise certain groups e. g. Hydropsyche pellucidula Curt, and its relatives in Hungary. We do hope that our students, successors and colleagues will be able to use our work effectively in their own job, become acquainted with this field on a higher level, as well as preserve these important and interesting insects.
