ÁBRAHÁM Levente ÁBRAHÁM, L.: Natural protection studies on the neuropteroids (Megaloptera, Raphidioptera, Neuroptera) fauna of the Duna-Dráva National Park, II. Abstract. 4277 neuropteroid specimens belonging to 56 species were found in the protected area in 1996/97. Author gives all faunistical data and short characterization of some species, like Phaeostigma major, Hemerobius marginatus, Chrysoperla carnea complex from the taxonomical and conservationist points of view. A zoogeographical evaluation of the Drava region is summarized by area analitical methods. Hungarian UTM distribution map of five species are presented. Introduction The territory of Danube-Dráva (Duna-Dráva) National Park has been protected since 1996. Of the originally planned common Croatian-Hungarian National Park, however, only the Hungarian side, the left side of the Dráva river stays actually under nature protection. The research work in the National Park, connected to the natural status of the region was in the past three years restricted mainly to the strip along the Dráva river. This was caused by the fact that at the beginning of the '90-ies a detailed study was carried out in Hungary on the natural values of the most southern part of the Danube region (in the Béda-Karapancsa Landscape Protection Area), besides of the volume published in 1992 on the fauna and flora of this region (UHERKOVICH 1992). This book laid down - among others - also the basic faunistical conditions and knowledge of the Neuroptera fauna (ÁBRAHÁM, SZIRÁKI 1992). The river Dráva, by running along the southwestern border of Hungary is a boundary river of about 150 km in lenght. From the point of view of surveys this means an immense protected area of about 21 200 hectares. In the territory northwest from Bares the river Dráva is not regulated, so the national park itself is not limited to the softwood forests and biotopes along the water but reaches beyond them. From geographical point of view the region of Őrtilos and Zákány extends into the hill country of South Zala and, conversely, in the Somogy section of Dráva (Barcs, Bélavár) the Somogy elevated country extends on many places into the national park. I have carried out my researches mostly in the region where the natural conditions more or less endured i.e. in the Somogy section of Dráva, including about two thirds of the protected area. On the results of my investigations between 1994 and 1995 and on the elaboration of faunistical and taxonomical studies of museum collections I have reported (ÁBRAHÁM 1995). In present paper I want to continue my report by summarising the data of faunistical interest, by characterising some remarkable species and by summing up a zoogeographical evaluation of the region.
