Preface to the volume. Ákos UHERKOVICH The second volume of the papers on the research of Dráva region contains 38 contributions. Altogether 4360 species are presented with their sampling data. 34 of them proved to be new for the Hungarian fauna: two water bear (tardigrad) (Isohypsibius ronsisvallei, Diphascon nobilei), three crustacean (Candonopsis scourfieldi, Notodromas persica, Cypridopsis elongata), one milliped (U

neiger transsilvanicus), six spider (Euryopis saukea, Rugathodes instabile, Theridion hemerobius, Enoplognatha latimana, Clubiona alpicola, Philodromus albidus), eleven heteropterous (Cryptostemma alienum, Dicyphus pallidus, Dicyphus constrictus, Calocoris sexguttatus, Capsodes mat, Strongylocoris luridus, Orthotylus viridinervis, Criocoris nigripes, Psallus anaemicus, Psallus cerridis (?), Psallus pardalis, Amblytylus albidus), three hymenopterous (Poecilagenia sculpturata, Sceliphron curvatum, Dienoplus exiguus), three caddisfly (Hydroptila pulchricornis, Limnephilus stigma, Helicopsyche bacescui), one butterfly (Leptidea reali), two dipterous (Cheilosia lenis, Hybomitra ucrainica) species. As the Drava region belongs to the Duna-Dráva National Park since April 1996, its protection can be more effective in the future. Both many aquatic and terrestrial habitats are rather valuable in viewpoint of their fauna. Some important areas of the National Park are to be protected to a marked degree.
