László FORRÓ This paper reports the occurrences of 26 Cladocera and 14 Copepoda species from the southern part of Transdanubia. Together with previous literature data 40 Cladocera and 15 Copepoda species are known from this region, The small number of species recorded does not reflect the low diversity of aquatic habitats in the region, it is rather related to the fact that the investigations were not intensive. A three year study has been started in 1995 which hopefully will provide a more complete survey of the microcrustacean fauna of the region.
