Abstract. 118 species belonging to 22 beetle families are listed from the Béda-Karapancsa Landscape Protection Area. Hungarian localities of 6 rare species are given in UTM-maps. With 6 figures. Situated along the riverside of the southern end of the Hungarian Danube, the BédaKarapancsa Landscape Protection Area (UTM code CR29) is one of the least known regions of Hungary as far as the fauna is concerned, even though earlier collectors sampled it decades ago. What have been reported on the beetles of the area are one-word references widely scattered in the Hungarian entomological literature about occurrence of certain species. No comprehensive study on the Coleoptera has been published so far. During a three-year fieldwork coordinated by the Janus Pannonius Múzeum, Pécs, a small but interesting beetle material was gathered from the area. The material was distributed among the Hungarian coleopterists for identification and the present author received the families which have no other specialisits in our country. Specimens belonging to Latridiidae and Phalacridae were passed on to other experts (see Acknowledgements). An account of the geography of the area as well as the aim and organization of the research are given in the preface of this volume (UHERKOVICH 1992). In the subsequent part the species belonging to 22 families are listed complemented with the localities, date and method of collecting and the name of collectors.
