ESCAPING AND COMING BACK EFFECTS OF MILITARY EVENTS IN BARCS AND ITS SURROUNDINGS (1944-1945) SUMMARY The author of this article wrote several excellent articles during the years about the history of Bares and Drávaszentes. These writings are primarily about the period of between the two world wars, and the events of the II World Warand the years after the war. In this essayhe writes about the battles and the effects of them between 1944 and 1945 in Bares and its surroundings He also draws attention to the strategical importance of the region, the here stationed troops and the defensive lines which were built by the Germans. In the second part of his writing he shows the hardship of the deported families based on the memories of the people. He successfully mixes the historical facts and objectivity with the subjective memories of the refugees.
