Dr. Kéri Nagy Béla: Határvédelem és határkijelölés a Dráva völgyében, 1945-ben BÉLA KÉRI NAGY, DR. BORDER PROTECTING AND ASSIGNMENT OF THE BORDER IN THE DRÁVA VALLEY, IN THE YEAR OF 1945. SUMMARY Dr. Béla Kéri Nagy 's essay discloses condensly the enormous work of the development of the new border-system after the end of the Second World War. During the chaotic times of the bloody war the rules began to lax and the smuggling of diverse goods across the Drava was flourishing. The situation must have been consolidated. Lieutenant-colonel László Marosy's function served that aim and he was prominent among the officers because of his antifascist behavior as far back as 1944. With his control the new line of border stations and frontier guards barracks were brought into existence and their ordinances were regulated. Appointments with Yugoslavian delegates were held (in Donji Miholjac, Villány and Bares) in order to regulate the passenger and merchandise traffic. On those meetings the representatives of the Soviet invading forces also took part. Actually those conferences can be considered the first official handshakes between Hungary and Yugoslavia. In spite of László Marosy's achievement the dictatorial communist administration convicted him on trumped-up charges on 1 st September, 1953. Unfortunately he was tormented physically and mentally in the concentration camp of Kistarcsa where his unconscientious warders broke his backbone. .. 136
